US truck sales versus car sales

US truck sales versus car salesAnd again US truck sales proved they are on the top now, with 926,000 units sold, which is 3.1% higher than the 898,000 units August 2015. As a contrast 2016 August US car sales fell to 579,000 units, as compared to 670,000 million units in August 2015. These results suggest a significant year-over-year decline of 13.6%.

US truck sales seasonally adjusted annual rate remained strong at approximately 10.1 million units from AUGUST 2015. The SAAR of truck sales was even higher at approximately 10.9 million vehicles. The US car sales fell to approximately 6.5 million units in August 2016, as compared to nearly 7.6 million units in August 2015. Since the car demand is one of the strongest indicators of a prospering economy, we can not help but wonder what will follow up next. US auto sales data suggests that the demand for trucks has grown positively in the last few years. The demand for the small cars in the United States was significantly down. That could be seen as a positive indication for automakers that get the majority of their revenues from the United States. Continuously large declines in overall auto sales in coming months could be seen as a warning sign of a slowdown going forward.
