In order to improve its image after its diesel emissions fiasco, Volkswagen introduced an impressive 6-year/72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, meaning that everything from cabin electronics to the engine and transmission were covered. Oddly enough, it was only available on the Tiguan and the Atlas models.
Now, Volkswagen has expanded the warranty from those two crossovers to the entire VW line. So now you can drop in and pick up anything from a GTI to a Passat and have over half a decade of worry-free driving. This warranty is a big upgrade over VW‘s previous warranty, which was bumper-to-bumper only for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The 3-year/36,000-mile coverage is also used by Ford, Honda, Subaru, Toyota, General Motors, Mazda and Fiat-Chrysler.
