After several delays, the inaugural Electric GT championship will finally begin later this year where 20 Teslas will battle on the track. Ahead of its competition debut in November, the first race-ready EPCS V2.3 Tesla P100DL has been unveiled at the Circuit de Catalunya track in Barcelona.
It has a large rear wing and racing-spec aero kit and an altered electric powertrain that produces 778 horsepower and 734 lb-ft of torque. Having its interior stripped out, organizers say that the racing version of Model S will sprint to 62 mph in just 2.1 seconds, which is 0.3 faster than the standard Model S and it has a top speed of 155 mph.
