Co, nothing saved the market from crashing down. The U.S. Army's Chevy Colorado ZH2 looks ready for everything!

Chevrolet continues work on zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell tech, and it’s now providing a just-revealed Colorado ZH2 fuel cell vehicle to the U.S. Army for design, to find out if the unique advantages of fuel cell tech are viable in actual real-world military mission situations. In everyday terms, that basically means that the Army will be checking out how the use of fuel cells might make for quieter, cooler rides that are harder to detect via instrument and human observation, and that can climb and tow with greater ease thanks to the continuous use of high torque which is a key ingredient of its hydrogen-powered electric drive train.
The U.S. Army’s testing will be focused on evaluating the benefits of fuel-cell tech in a number of areas, including “near-silent operation,” “reduced acoustic and thermal signatures,” “high wheel torque at all speeds,” “low fuel consumption across operating range,” and “water by-product for field uses.” The ZH2 is a modified version of the Colorado midsize pickup Chevrolet produces for the consumer market, with a specially reinforced frame designed for all-terrain use. The car’s engine compartment has also been modified to accommodate its hydrogen fuel-cell based power train, which GM says offers unique advantages for military use.

Who leads the Luxury Cars Segment in U.S?

Who leads the Luxury Cars Segment in U.S?After a record-breaking 2015, luxury sales are expected to slow down, that's what analysts say. It is hard to compete with last year's sales results, and we knew it all along. One of the Analysts say that at the moment, the possibility of 2016 to be able to beat 2015's record, is close to 0.

For the past 10 years, sales for premium brands have grown faster than non-premium carmakers and SUVs have sold faster than cars. Though that trend is expected to continue, the market for new luxury cars and SUVs is beginning to cool after showing signs of tapering toward the end of 2015. August was especially unkind to the luxury brands, with single-digit declines for BMW, Lexus,Nissan, Acura, and Infiniti.

Truck sales still continue to be strong?

In the last few years, mainstream automakers benefited from strong truck and utility vehicle sales in the US. While small car sales showcased stagnation in the country, demand for heavyweight vehicles rose in the last few quarters. It’s important to note that these heavyweight vehicles, including pickup trucks and utility vehicles, tend to yield higher margins for automakers compared to small cars.
In general, heavyweight vehicles are less fuel efficient than small vehicles. Weakness in oil prices and a recovery in the country’s housing and construction market could be two primary reasons behind the higher sales. Any sustainable recovery in oil prices could hurt US truck and utility vehicle sales going forward. It would result in lower profitability for automakers. It’s important for investors to keep a close eye on oil prices and other factors signaling lowering truck sales in the US.

Mercedes-Benz launches a stunning SLC convertible

Although it will not be present when the public enters the Paris Motor Show this weekend, Mercedes-Benz exhibited their new convertible at a special media event the night before the show’s opening: a drop-top version of their audacious, overtly phallic, two-seat sports car.Mercedes-Benz design director Gorden Wagener said that originally they didn’t plan to build this car.
The newest open-air Benz is fun, fast and – here’s a surprise – affordable, certainly more so than you’d expect from the German car brand. $70,900 (excluding dealer and on-road costs) will get you behind the wheel of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC, which is now rolling out to dealers. That’s a chunky $16,300 off the previous SLK 200 base model. Yet this mid-life makeover of the SLK – which now bears the SLC moniker, in a nod to its C-Class underpinnings – also adds plenty of features to the folding hardtop roadster to help it line up against rivals such as the BMW Z4 and Audi TT.
